Bowen (suspension) will withdraw his name from the 2018 NBA Draft, Andrew Ramspacher of The State reports.

Bowen was expected to remain in the draft after he was informed May 30 that the NCAA wouldn't clear him to play for South Carolina in 2018-19. The 6-foot-7 forward never signed with an agent and technically retains collegiate eligibility, but it appears he will instead embark on a pro career rather than spent a second consecutive season on the sideline after only practicing with South Carolina as a true freshman in 2017-18. He could join the free agent pool in the G League or head overseas during the upcoming season with the hope of getting selected in the 2019 NBA Draft.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Bowen will forgo his collegiate career and remain in the 2018 NBA Draft, Jeff Goodman of ESPN reports.

Bowen has been under investigation over the last few months regarding benefits he received from Louisville during the recruiting process. After a lengthy deliberation, the NCAA has finally made a ruling on the matter and informed Bowen that he'd at least have to sit out next season, and possibly more as a consequence. That essentially forces Bowen's hand and he'll now remain in the draft with the hope of kick-starting his professional career. While Bowen doesn't currently project to be selected in the upcoming NBA draft in June, there's a very good chance he'll find a spot on a G-League team, where he'll have the opportunity to develop and audition for big league teams for a potential call-up at a later date.

Bowen (suspension) has been invited to the NBA combine, Andy Staples of Sports Illustrated reports.

Bowen applied for a spot at the combine earlier in April, hoping he could get some insight on his draft stock in case he is ruled ineligible to play in college. Now that he's been sent an invite, he'll be able to see what NBA scouts think of his game. That said, he has not signed with an agent and there is a strong chance he would return to school if he's deemed eligible to play for South Carolina again next season.

Bowen has applied for a spot in the NBA combine, Tim Sullivan of the Louisville Courier Journal reports.

Bowen is currently under investigation for receiving benefits from Louisville during the recruiting process and a final ruling on his eligibility for next season remains uncertain at the collegiate level. As a result, Bowen will attempt to get a combine invite to see where he could be selected in this year's draft just in case he's not allowed to play. However, he's yet to sign with an agent and if he's ultimately deemed eligible to play with South Carolina next year, there's a strong chance he pulls his name out and returns to school.

Bowen (suspension) was among the names listed in the FBI's probe into NCAA basketball, Sports Illustrated reports.

Bowen was the original face of the FBI's investigation after it was revealed that he received money to commit to Louisville, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that his name is again linked. He has since transferred from Louisville to South Carolina and will be eligible to retake the floor in 2019 barring further punishment from the NCAA.

Bowen has been admitted to South Carolina and will seek reinstatement from the NCAA, ESPN's Jeff Goodman reports.

This is just step one in potentially suiting up for South Carolina, as he'll have to receive the NCAA's stamp of approval before officially becoming part of the basketball program. It's unclear what his future holds if he is denied, but it could involve playing ball professionally.

Bowen (suspension) will no longer play basketball at the University of Louisville, per the school's release.

Bowen has been on an indefinite suspension from the basketball program due to his unique recruiting situation that tied him to the recent FBI probe in college basketball. With all the scandal that has plagued the Louisville program in recent years, the organization will play this one safe and not allow Bowen -- who recently hired an attorney -- to suit up in a Cardinals uniform. Per the school's statement, Bowen will receive written permission to contact other schools, and can still attend school via scholarship if he wishes. It's unclear at this point if Bowen will look to transfer, or pursue professional opportunities.

Bowen (suspension) has hired an attorney in an effort to be be reinstated to the Lousiville basketball program, The Courier-Journal reports.

In the wake of college basketball's latest pay-for-play scandal, Bowen -- one of the Louisville players implicated in the investigation -- was suspended indefinitely by the program. Though he was not explicitly named in the FBI report, Bowen's unique recruitment accurately fit the description, and Louisville confirmed later in the week that he had been suspended. It doesn't appear the five-star freshman will be going down without a fight, as he's retained Jason Setchen for legal counsel, the same attorney that successfully reinstated Miami basketball player DeQuan Jones in 2011. It's too early to gauge Bowen's chances of success, but in the meantime, Louisville will move on under newly-instated interim head coach David Padgett. The team started formal preseason workouts Sunday.
