McBrayer (leg) has been cleared for full-contact work this summer, Marcus Fuller of the Star Tribune reports.

McBrayer played through a stress reaction in his left leg for much of his junior season, missing just a handful of contests when the discomfort was too much. He opted against having surgery in the offseason and simply rested instead with the hope of making a full recovery. It looks as if that choice has paid off and McBrayer is now able to go through full-contact work. Coach Richard Pitino did mention they'll take a cautious approach with McBrayer this summer, but either way, he should be a full-go for the start of the season. McBrayer started all 27 games he played last season, averaging 9.4 points, 2.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.0 steal across 28.6 minutes.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

McBrayer (lower leg) is in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against Rutgers.

McBrayer was considered a game-time call for the matchup, but he will indeed give it a go for the Gophers. He doesn't light up the box score -- averaging 9.5 points, 2.4 assists, 2.1 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game -- but he does play more than 28 minutes per contest and serves as a nice backcourt pairing for senior point guard Nate Mason.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

McBrayer (lower leg) is considered a game-time call for Wednesday's tilt with Rutgers, Marcus Fuller of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

McBrayer has suited up in each of the Golden Gophers' last three games and played 21 minutes in Sunday's loss to Purdue, but saw only six minutes after halftime when his lower left-leg injury flared up. The injury has prevented McBrayer from practicing since December and could require offseason surgery, but the junior guard could choose to tough it out and play in Minnesota's regular-season finale. Expect the team to provide an update on McBrayer's condition shortly before the 7:55 p.m. EST tip time.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

McBrayer has started three games since returning from injury, averaging 9.7 points and 1.7 assists. Per Marcus Fuller of the Minneapolis Star Tribune, he still does not appear to be at 100 percent.

The report from the Star Tribune suggests that he is still hobbled by the leg injury, which is why McBrayer didn't see much time in the second half, per coach Richard Pitino. There's still fantasy potential for the junior guard, but its' tough to rely on the 6-5 wing when he isn't fully healthy. That being said, it doesn't appear McBrayer is at risk of missing any time heading into the Big Ten tournament.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

McBrayer (lower leg) will play in Monday's game at Wisconsin, Marcus Fuller of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

McBrayer's reinsertion into the starting lineup marks the end of his two-game absence. The junior guard has chipped in 9.5 PPG, 2.3 RPG and 2.5 APG for the Golden Gophers. With McBrayer back, Jamir Harris will fall back to the bench.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

McBrayer (lower leg) will not play in Tuesday's game versus Michigan State, Marcus Fuller of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

McBrayer will miss his second consecutive game while nursing a nagging leg injury. In his absence, look for Jamir Harris to see some extra minutes. His next chance to return will be Tuesday versus Wisconsin.

February 9, 2018

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

McBrayer (lower leg) will not play Friday against Indiana, Marcus Fuller of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

It appears that the couple days of rest weren't enough to get his leg back into game shape. McBrayer started the past 12 contests for the Gophers and contributed 9.5 points per game, so his presence will be missed. Look for Jamir Harris to pick up some extra minutes in his stead.

February 6, 2018

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

McBrayer's lower leg injury flared up during Tuesday's loss to Nebraska and he's now uncertain for Friday's game against Indiana, Marcus Fuller of the Star Tribune reports.

McBrayer was only able to play 14 minutes Tuesday and was then unable to return to the game after appearing to aggravate a lower leg injury that he's been dealing with recently. He'll have another three days off for additional rest and recovery, but it's currently unclear if McBrayer will be able to give a go by Friday. Look for his status to be updated later this week once his practice availability is known.
