Brown signed a contract Saturday with the Redblacks.

After spending parts of last season with Winnipeg, Brown now moves his career to Ottawa as he continues to look for his first chance to hit the field in a professional game. He's shown his athletic ability in the past, most noticeably when he was nominated for the Harlon Hill Trophy his senior year of college, which is awarded to Division II's most valuable player.

Brown agreed to a deal with Winnipeg on Thursday.

Brown spent time on the Blue Bombers' practice roster last season, but was released by the team in early November. The 22-year-old has yet to play a snap in the CFL, but was named a consensus First-Team All-American with the California University of Pennsylvania in Division II in 2016 during his senior year of college.

Brown was removed from the team's practice roster Thursday.

Brown was released after joining the organization's practice roster just over a month ago. The wide receiver didn't spend any time on the field, or the active roster for that matter, and will look to latch on with a team during the beginning of the 2018 campaign.

Brown was added to the Blue Bombers practice roster Tuesday, Darrin Bauming of TSN Radio 1290 reports.

With slotback Weston Dressler (upper body) set to miss some games, the Blue Bombers are seemingly shopping for some insurance by adding Brown to the practice squad.
