RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Rogers is not on the depth chart for the game against Calgary on Thursday.

The absence of one of the top wide receivers in the league will hurt Calgary's offensive production, as Rogers is currently sixth in the league with an 18.3 yard reception average among players who have played in at least three games while also leading the league with three touchdowns. He will be replaced in the starting lineup by Reggie Begelton.

Rogers caught five passes for 57 yards and a touchdown in Thursday's 24-14 win over Ottawa.

It's a step down from his huge Week 2, but Rogers now has five receptions in each of his last two games and three combined touchdowns. He leads the team in both receiving yards and scores and has cemented himself as one of Bo Levi Mitchell's top options going forward. The Stampeders have a Week 4 bye before traveling to Ottawa for a rematch in Week 5.

Rogers caught five passes for 131 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday's 41-7 win over Toronto.

After his attempt to catch on in the NFL fell flat due to an ACL injury, it hasn't taken long for Rogers to return to CFL glory. The league's leading receiver from 2015 was listed as a backup in Week 1 and was held to just one catch, but the Cal Lutheran product's huge game this week probably assures him a larger role going forward. The 27-year-old won't have to wait long, as Calgary returns home to host Ottawa when Week 3 begins on Thursday.

Rogers will start Saturday against Toronto at the slot position, Daniel Austin of the Calgary Sun reports.

After lining up as the backup at the slot in week one, Rogers now gets the start at the spot with the absence of Marken Michel (undisclosed) and Reggie Begelton's move to the outside. Rogers was arguably the best slot receiver in the league when he last played there in 2015, amassing 1,448 yards and 10 touchdowns on 87 catches. He's coming off a week one performance against Hamilton where he took one catch for 13 yards.

Rogers is in the lineup for Saturday's game against Hamilton, David William Naylor of TSN reports.

Despite only signing with the team less than two weeks ago, the wide receiver is active for Saturday's game and figures to play a big role in Calgary's offense. It will be Rogers's first game of professional football in almost three years after leaving the CFL for the NFL's 49ers in 2015 but subsequently tearing his ACL and never seeing the field.

Rogers took part in team drills Thursday, and according to Danny Austin of the Calgary Sun, will likely play a role in the Stampeders' season opener Saturday.

Rogers signed with the Stampeders just over a week ago, but his learning curve has not been too steep, as he played for Calgary in 2014 and 2015, and both his quarterback and head coach remain the same. It's uncertain much he will play right away, but he totaled 1,448 yards and 10 scores in 2015, so he certainly has the potential to be an impact player over the course of the season.

Rogers agreed to a contract Wednesday with the Stampeders, Justin Dunk of reports.

Rogers had reportedly met or worked out with 16 NFL teams this offseason, but the 27-year-old ultimately decided to return to the Stampeders, with whom he accrued a CFL-leading 1,448 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns in 2015. The 6-foot-4, 215-pound wideout left the Stamps after that season upon receiving $100,000 guaranteed from the San Francisco 49ers, but he never played a down in the NFL after suffering a torn ACL in training camp that year. After taking 2017 off to continue rehabbing the injury, Rogers has received a clean bill of health and should give a major lift to the Calgary offense.
