RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Banks caught seven passes for 113 yards in Thursday's 18-13 loss to the Roughriders.

Through four weeks, Banks has only failed to top 100 yards receiving once, in Week 1. On Thursday, he led the team in yards and catches for the third week in a row and right now looks like the most bankable Ticats receiver, although he has only one touchdown so far on the year. After a Week 5 bye, the Kansas State product will try to keep it going at home in a rematch with the Roughriders in Week 6.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Banks notched 11 catches for 111 yards and added five punt returns for 54 yards in the Tiger-Cats' 31-17 win over the Blue Bombers on Friday.

Banks led all players in both receptions and receiving yardage on the night, posting his second straight 100-yard receiving game in the process. The veteran also logged reps as a returner for the first time this season and averaged an impressive 10.8 yards per runback on punts. The 30-year-old has been coming on as a pass catcher since late last season, and after a modest four-reception, 19-yard night in Week 1, he's now posted 17 grabs for 228 yards and a touchdown over the last two games. Banks will look to stay similarly productive when the Tiger-Cats do battle with the Roughriders in Week 4.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

It's no surprise at all that Banks is starting at wide receiver this week, but it is notable that he could return punts in Week 3, as he thrived in that role previously before becoming a bigger factor on offense. Both Banks and Frankie Williams are listed as punt returners, so Banks may not field every punt. However, even if he gets a chance or two, that would provide more opportunities for points in leagues that score return yardage.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Banks caught six passes for 117 yards and a touchdown in Friday's 38-21 win over Edmonton.

Banks' huge game comes after a relatively quiet Week 1. Of course, when a team has four receivers capable of 1,000-yard seasons, some week-to-week inconsistency is to be expected. The 30-year-old was all over the field on Friday however, even contributing a key block on a second-quarter scoring play. He'll try to keep the momentum going when the Ticats head home to face the Blue Bombers in Week 3.

June 4, 2018

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Banks had four catches for 72 yards and a touchdown in Friday's preseason game against the Argonauts.

Banks became a force in the passing game over the latter portion of last season, and it appears that will remain the case in 2018. Banks' return opportunities decreased as his offensive snaps went up, and after not returning any kicks Friday, it appears that trend will hold as well.

January 5, 2018

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Banks re-signed with the Tiger-Cats on Friday.

Banks is coming off a career-best season with Hamilton at 30 years old, recording 67 catches for 1,011 yards and 10 total touchdowns. He was also an effective member for the return game in all 18 games with the Tiger-Cats last season. He'll enter the 2018 season as the team's number one receiving threat once again.

November 4, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Banks gained nine yards and scored a touchdown on his sole rush, posted seven receptions for 76 yards, lost two yards on his two punt returns, netted zero yards on his sole kickoff return and gained 20 yards on a missed field-goal return in Friday's season-ending 33-0 win over the Alouettes.

Banks was literally all over the offensive stat sheet and finished the season on a strong note overall. The veteran speedster put together his best stretch of work as a receiver over the final six weeks of the season, posting five 100-yard efforts and bringing in five touchdowns during that stretch. The late-season surge led to career highs for Banks in receptions (67), receiving yards (1,011) and receiving touchdowns (eight). He still maintained a strong role on special teams as well and posted a punt return touchdown for the fourth consecutive campaign. Given his impressive play in the latter half of the season, Banks should enter 2018 training camp as one of the focal points of the offense.

October 27, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Banks posted 13 receptions for 193 yards and two touchdowns, logged one punt return for three yards and notched one kickoff return for 20 yards in Friday's 41-36 loss to the Redblacks.

Banks has progressively been coming on as a receiver in recent weeks, and Friday's effort was the culmination of that ascension. The veteran speedster exploded for career bests in receptions and receiving yardage while also logging his first multi-receiving-touchdown effort of the season. The contest also marked the fifth straight game in which the 29-year-old eclipsed the century mark in receiving yards. Banks and Jeremiah Masoli have forged a highly productive connection, one that should serve them well heading into the 2018 campaign. He'll look to close out the season on a strong note against the vulnerable Alouettes secondary in Week 20.

October 22, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Banks posted six receptions for 129 yards and a touchdown while also logging four punt returns for 111 yards and another score in Sunday's 43-16 win over the Alouettes.

Banks' impressive run as a No. 1 receiver continues, as he's now posted four consecutive 100-yard efforts and has four touchdowns in the last five games. The Kansas State product has six catches in four of his last five contests as well, and he also made a splash in return to full-time special teams duty. Banks' 65-yard punt return touchdown in the second quarter gave the Tiger-Cats a 15-7 lead at the time and served as his first of the year in that capacity. With the dual threat he poses, Banks has turned into a must-play in all fantasy formats each week. He'll look to continue adding to his career-best 47 receptions and 742 receiving yards against the Redblacks in Week 19.

October 13, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Banks logged six receptions for 115 yards, two yards on his sole punt return and nine yards on his one kickoff return in Friday's 28-25 loss to the Stampeders.

The veteran speedster now has three consecutive 100-yard efforts and at least six receptions in three of his past four games. He's been deployed almost exclusively on offense in recent weeks, although he did log one return apiece on both punts and kickoffs against the Stampeders. Banks seems to have forged outstanding rapport with quarterback Jeremiah Masoli, making him a weekly DFS tournament option, even in tough matchups such as Friday's. He'll look to exploit a vulnerable Alouettes secondary in Week 18.

October 6, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Banks posted six receptions for 104 yards and a touchdown in Friday's 30-13 win over the Blue Bombers. He also returned a missed field goal for 10 yards.

Banks wasted no time getting going Friday, hauling in a perfectly thrown ball from QB Jeremiah Masoli on the the Tiger-Cats' third play of the night and running the remaining 20 yards to the end zone. The versatile veteran ultimately eclipsed the century mark for the second consecutive contest and also recorded a receiving touchdown for the third straight game. Banks has emerged as a go-to receiver for Masoli, a development that's coincided with him ceding special teams duties and focusing solely on offense. He'll strive to continue surging when Hamilton tangles with the Stampeders in Week 17.

September 30, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Banks posted three receptions for 100 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 43-35 overtime loss to the Argonauts.

Banks hauled in a beautiful 58-yard pass from Jeremiah Masoli on the second play of the game, his second receiving score in as many contests. The veteran has been concentrating exclusively on offense for the last two games and it appears to be paying dividends, as he's posted nine receptions for 144 yards and the aforementioned pair of touchdowns over that stretch. He'll look to keep building on that production in Week 16 against the Blue Bombers.

September 23, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Banks managed six receptions for 44 yards and a touchdown in Friday's 24-23 win over the Lions.

Banks once again focused fully on wideout duties, not logging any work on returns for the second straight week. He continues to produce as a receiver, with Friday's output matching his season high in receptions and also including his third touchdown through the air in 2017. Banks' trademark speed and elusiveness continue to serve him well regardless of where he lines up, and he'll look to once again make an impact in the Tiger-Cats' improved passing attack against the Argonauts in Week 15.

September 15, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Banks logged three receptions for 46 yards and totaled four yards on a pair of punt returns in Friday's 27-19 loss to the Riders.

Banks continued the recent trend of contributing as a receiver, posting three receptions for the second straight game. The versatile veteran has 12 receptions overall in the three games since Jeremiah Masoli took over as the starting quarterback, even as his special teams involvement has been significantly reduced. Banks hasn't logged any kickoff returns in the last three contests and just five punt returns over that span. That does cap Banks' fantasy value to an extent, but he'll look to keep upping his involvement as a wideout in Week 14 against the Lions.

September 10, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Banks caught three passes for 54 yards in Saturday's 26-22 win over the Redblacks.

With Jeremiah Masoli at QB for the Ti-Cats over the last two games, Banks has suddenly emerged as a consistent presence in the offense, catching nine passes for 152 yards and a TD. Hamilton's passing game as a whole is still limited, but the 29-year-old receiver has been one of Masoli's favorite targets so far.

September 5, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Banks caught six passes for 98 yards and a touchdown in Monday's 24-22 win over the Argos.

He was one of the few bright spots for the Ti-Cats in an otherwise quiet performance by the offense. Banks showed more than enough Monday to remain in the starting lineup going forward, and could be a useful fantasy play Saturday in a road game against Ottawa.

September 4, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Banks is listed as a starting wide receiver for Monday's game against the Argonauts.

Banks has lined up as a reserve slotback in every game this season up to this point, but he will change positions this week and replace Damarr Aultman in the starting lineup. It's not clear if the change will lead to any more targets for Banks, who has caught just eight passes in 2017, but it will give him a better opportunity to contribute on offense while still serving as the Tiger-Cats' primary option on both kick and punt returns.

June 25, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Banks totaled 29 yards on three receptions, 20 yards on two punt returns and 81 yards on five kickoff returns during Sunday's 32-15 loss to the Argonauts.

The solid all-around performance was par for the course when it comes to Banks, who's been utilized in similarly diverse fashion since arriving in Hamilton back in 2013. In addition to being deployed as a receiver and full-time returner, Banks has occasionally been featured out of the backfield as a rusher each season as well, although he saw a career-low five carries over 16 games in 2016. He'll likely have a few opportunities again this season, and remains a viable DFS option week-to-week given his electric return ability and serviceable receiving contributions (96 receptions, 10 receiving touchdowns in the last three seasons).

June 25, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Banks is listed as a reserve slotback and as the top return man on the Tiger-Cats' Week 1 depth chart.

Banks contributed minimally on the offensive side of the ball a year ago, and that will likely remain the case this season. However, the speedster will still get several chances to make an impact each game thanks to his proficiency in the return game.

November 2, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Banks sat out the last two games as punishment for violating the CFL's drug policy, but he will return to action this week and be available for the team's postseason run. Expect Banks to work back in as a reserve slotback and the Tiger-Cats' primary return man.

October 19, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Banks was suspended two games for violating the CFL's drug policy.

Banks tested positive for the banned substance Methylenedioxyamphetamine, a hallucinogenic drug. The suspension is his first drug offense, with a second offense bringing about a nine-game suspension. It will be up to the team to determine whether it wants Banks to participate in practices and meetings during the next two weeks. Banks will be eligible to return to action Nov. 5 against the Alouettes.

October 2, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Banks gained 31 yards on three receptions, 26 yards on three punt returns and 117 yards on seven kickoff returns in Saturday's 36-17 loss to the Stamps.

The all-purpose speedster was productive on kickoff returns but couldn't do much else to contribute in the blowout loss. With his participation from scrimmage largely sporadic, Banks' primary fantasy value comes from his work on special teams on most weeks.

September 25, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Banks totaled 15 yards and a touchdown on three receptions, added 30 yards on six punt returns and amassed 52 yards on a pair of kickoff returns in Saturday's 20-18 loss to the Roughriders.

The all-purpose maven scored his first touchdown through the air since Week 11 versus the Argos, his fourth receiving score overall on the season. Banks' production from scrimmage is naturally hard to predict week-to-week, but his typically robust numbers on returns keep him as a viable fantasy option.

August 21, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Banks totaled 67 yards and a touchdown on three receptions in Saturday's 53-7 victory over the Rougriders. He added 13 yards on three punt returns and 19 yards on his sole kickoff return.

The dynamic return man was much more impactful from scrimmmage Saturday, hauling in a perfectly-timed pass from Zach Collaros on a post early in the second quarter. It was an encouraging receiving performance from Banks after totaling just one catch over the previous two weeks, although he'd admittedly been busy providing eye-popping results in the return game over that span. The veteran speedster continues to be one of the higher-upside non-quarterback plays for fantasy purposes each week.

August 14, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Banks was spectacular again in Saturday's 45-38 loss to the Lions, totaling 232 all-purpose yards. He contributed two yards on one rush, 41 yards on four punt returns, 63 yards on two kickoff returns and 126 yards and a touchdown on a missed field goal runback.

Despite rarely touching the ball from scrimmage, Banks continues to find ways to serve as one of the Ti-Cats' biggest contributors on an almost weekly basis. After amassing 199 yards of total offense in Week 7, the speedy return man managed to top himself in Week 8, primarily on the strength of a spectacular 126-yard return of a missed Richie Leone field goal late in the fourth quarter to tie the game at 35. Although the Ti-Cats would go on to lose the contest after Jonathon Jennings threw a game-winning 30-yard score to Emmanuel Arceneaux, Banks' fantasy upside continues sky high thanks to his freakish return abilities.

July 24, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Banks made his usual multi-faceted contributions in Saturday's 37-31 victory over the Eskimos, totaling 64 yards on three catches, 62 yards on five punt returns and 73 yards on three kickoff returns.

The dynamic receiver/returner was able to be a factor in multiple phases, and paid dividends in the second-half comeback as a receiver. Banks also was able to help out the Hamilton offense on several occasions through his return prowess, putting together a long punt runback of 36 yards. He figures to continue serving as an integral component of both the Ti-Cats offense and special teams throughout the season.

July 16, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Banks caught just one pass for 15 yards in Friday's win over the Alouettes, but also added 124 return yards including an 86-yard punt return for a touchdown early in the third quarter.

It's the second straight game in which Banks has returned a kick to the house. He's got a modest nine catches for 109 yards and a TD through four games, but his 608 combined return yards leads the league.

July 8, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Banks gained a yard on his sole rush, 25 yards on his two catches, 122 yards on four kickoff returns and 124 yards and a touchdown on two missed field goal returns in Thursday's 28-24 loss to the Blue Bombers. The only blemish on his performance was an eight-yard loss on his one punt return.

The lethal all-purpose threat was all over the stat sheet again Thursday, and his 120-yard return of a Justin Medlock 51-yard missed field goal opened the scoring. Banks' performance was typical of what he's capable of when hitting on all cylinders, and he'll serve as a potentially explosive fantasy threat as long as his health holds up this season.

June 24, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Banks caught four passes for 50 yards and a touchdown while also adding 198 return yards in Thursday's win over the Argos.

He was primarily used as a return man last year, but at least in the season opener Banks found a regular role in the Tiger-Cats' passing game as well. Hamilton has plenty of other receiving weapons so he likely won't emerge as one of the team's top options, but if Banks keeps getting targets he has the speed and elusiveness to make them count.
