RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Hazelton will start at wide receiver in Thursday's season opener against the Blue Bombers.

Hazelton will play a key role for the Eskimos again this year after finishing third in receiving yardage and second in receptions a year ago. Hazelton's production dipped last year after fellow receiver Derel Walker rejoined the Eskimos, but even with Walker playing from the jump this year, there will be some targets available due to the offseason departures of Brandon Zylstra and Adarius Bowman.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Hazelton signed a one-year contract extension with the Eskimos on Monday.

Hazelton will be back with the Eskimos for the 2018 campaign after appearing in 11 games for Edmonton last season. He should reprise his role as one of the team's top receivers in 2018; the 30-year-old finished second on the team in receptions (55) and third in receiving yards (709) in 2017.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Hazelton will start at wide receiver against Winnipeg on Sunday.

Although D'haquille Williams (undisclosed) is back on the depth chart, Hazelton will remain the number two wideout alongside Derel Walker for this weekend's West Semi-Final. On the year, Hazelton has accumulated 55 receptions for 276 yards and four touchdowns.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Hazelton (undisclosed) is back on the team's depth chart ahead of Saturday's game against BC.

Hazelton hasn't played since August while dealing with an undisclosed injury, but is back as the No. 2 wide receiver on the depth chart for this weekend's contest. It remains to be seen how much time he will see on the field after missing two months of action, but with D'haquille Williams being removed from the active roster, it appears as though Hazelton is ready to retake his role in the offense.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Hazelton (undisclosed) is not listed on the team's depth chart leading up to Saturday's game against Toronto.

Hazelton will miss another game while recovering from an undisclosed injury that has kept him off the field since August. The Eskimos will roll with Derel Walker, D'haqyuille Williams and Bryant Mitchell at the wide receiving position.

October 12, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Hazelton (undisclosed) was back at practice Thursday for the first time since late August, Morley Scott of AM 630 CHED reports.

Although it seems unlikely that Hazelton will be ready for game action Saturday against the Argonauts, it's a good sign that he was finally able to practice after missing the last six games with an undisclosed injury. Prior to hitting the shelf, Hazelton was in the top 10 of the league in receiving yards and top five in touchdowns. There should be an update on his status Friday.

September 3, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Hazelton (undisclosed) was placed on the six-game injured list Sunday, Eskimos play-by-play announcer Morley Scott reports.

Hazelton was held out of Friday's tilt with the Roughriders and while there was optimism regarding a potential return after taking part in a practice late last week, the Eskimos will now shut him down for the next six contests. If all goes according to plan, Hazelton's next shot to play will be an Aug. 14 matchup with the Argonauts, though continue to monitor his status over the next month for any additional updates.

September 1, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Hazelton (undisclosed) didn't participate during Friday's practice, Dave Campbell of 630 CHED reports.

Hazelton, who spent Week 10 on the injured list, did take part during Thursday's practice, so it's possible Friday's absence was for rest. That said, he should still be considered questionable for Week 11's game until more word comes through.

August 31, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Hazelton (undisclosed) took part in Thursday's practice, Morley Scott of 630 CHED reports.

Hazelton spent Week 10 on the injured list, but it appears that could be the extent of his absence. Edmonton's receiving corps is set to get a big boost in Week 11 with both Hazelton and slotback Adarius Bowman on track to return to action.

August 24, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Hazelton was placed on the one-game injured list ahead of Friday's game against the Roughriders, Dave Campbell of 630 CHED reports.

Hazelton has been one of the more consistent options in an Edmonton offense plagued with injuries this season, but now he'll be added to the list with an undisclosed injury. In Hazelton's one-game absence Friday, wideout Shamawd Chambers will get the start.

August 10, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Hazelton caught six passes for 70 yards in Thursday's 27-20 win over the Redblacks.

The former Argo has been the one constant among Edmonton's injury-ravaged receiving corps this season, and Hazelton is now sixth in the CFL in receiving yards (523) and tied for second in TDs (four) through seven games.

August 5, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Hazelton totaled 68 yards and a touchdown on seven receptions in Friday's 33-28 win over the Ti-Cats.

Hazelton's 18-yard touchdown reception early in the fourth quarter appeared to be just an insurance score at the time, but it ended up being vital to keeping the Eskimos undefeated after the Ti-Cats closed the gap to 33-28 with 2:17 remaining. The 29-year-old now has 453 yards through just six games and is just two touchdowns short of equaling the career-best six he tallied in his rookie 2015 campaign. Hazelton's profile in the Eskimos' high-powered air attack has only grown since Adarius Bowman's hamstring injury, so he should once again play a prominent part against the Redblacks in a Week 8 showdown.

July 29, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Hazelton caught eight passes for 159 yards and a touchdown in Friday's 37-26 win over the Lions.

The bulk of that production came on an 108-yard TD catch to open the second quarter, the longest reception in Edmonton franchise history. Hazelton took full advantage of Adarius Bowman's absence due to a hamstring injury, and he could be in line for another big game next Friday at home against the Tiger-Cats.

July 21, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Hazelton totaled 67 yards and scored a touchdown on four receptions in Thursday's 31-28 win over the Ti-Cats.

The veteran was indispensable in the comeback victory, scoring what would ultimately be the game-winning touchdown late in the fourth quarter and once again serving as a reliable secondary option overall. Hazelton's opportunity should only expand in coming weeks with Adarius Bowman (hamstring) now on the injured list, with his nose for the end zone (11 career CFL touchdowns in 28 games) and typically modest price making him an appealing DFS option for the time being.

July 14, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Hazelton managed 65 yards on four receptions in Friday's 23-21 win over the Redblacks.

Hazelton was an effective secondary option for Mike Reilly on a night when Brandon Zylstra spearheaded the air attack with 10 receptions. The 29-year-old pass catcher has been steady to open the season, posting 11 catches for 144 yards over the last two contests. Hazelton offers decent fantasy upside as a moderately-priced DFS option week-to-week, although the presence of Zylstra and Adarius Bowman will likely conspire to keep his ceiling fairly modest in most games.

July 1, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Hazelton caught seven passes for 79 yards in Friday's 23-19 win over the Alouettes.

After catching a TD among three short receptions in Week 1, the former Argo proved he could move the chains as well for quarterback Mike Reilly. Edmonton's WR depth chart behind superstar Adarius Bowman is still unsettled, but Hazelton may be separating himself from the pack and emerging as the team's No. 2 option through the air -- a role that would supply him with plenty of fantasy value.

June 23, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Hazelton is listed as a starting wide receiver on the depth chart for Saturday's season opener against the Lions.

Hazelton will get the starting nod Saturday in his Eskimos debut. He did not produce much in 2016, but he did open the season with three touchdowns over the first two weeks before fading. The Eskimos lost their top receiver on the boundary during the offseason when Derel Walker decided to give the NFL a shot, so Hazelton will have a chance to make an impact right out of the gate.

October 21, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Hazelton is not listed on the depth chart for Saturday's matchup with the Lions.

Hazelton officially joined the Eskimos' roster earlier this week and possesses playmaking ability, but his team debut will not come in Week 18, as Edmonton will continue rolling with the same group of receivers that helped the team rack up 107 points over its last three games.

October 18, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Hazelton signed a contract with the Eskimos on Tuesday.

It was reported nearly two weeks ago that Hazelton would be joining the Eskimos, but the signing was not officially announced until Tuesday. Hazelton's role with the Eskimos has not been defined, but he provides the team another dangerous weapon in the passing game behind top receivers Adarius Bowman and Derel Walker.

October 10, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

According to the CFL transaction page and the Eskimos' roster, Hazelton has not officially signed with the Eskimos.

Hazelton appeared headed to the Eskimos last week based on a social media post, but the move has not been confirmed by the team nor the league. Hazelton could still join the Eskimos, but he officially remains a free agent for now.

October 5, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Hazelton agreed to terms with the Eskimos on Wednesday, Justin Dunk of Sportsnet reports.

Hazelton was released by Toronto on Monday due to issues in the locker room, but he quickly found a new home. Hazelton has 361 yards in eight appearances in 2016, a significant decrease from his 2015 production of 803 yards in 16 games. However, he adds another threat to an Eskimos passing attack that already features top receivers Adarius Bowman and Derel Walker.

October 3, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Hazelton was released by the Argonauts on Monday, Kirk Penton of the Winnipeg Sun reports.

The reason for Hazelton's release was not disclosed, but head coach Scott Milanovich hinted after Sunday's thumping by the Alouettes that changes were coming, and this appears to be the first step in the process. Hazelton has racked up just 361 yards in eight games this season, but he did accumulate 803 yards in 16 games last year, so he may not be out of work for long.

September 24, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Hazelton returned to action in Friday's loss to the Redblacks, catching three passes for 37 yards.

The Argos never did explain why Hazelton was out of the lineup, but in his absence Kevin Elliott has emerged as an important part of their passing game. With Drew Willy taking over as the starting QB and giving his receivers a relatively clean slate though, Hazelton could get a chance to resume the early-season pace that saw him catch 17 passes for 259 yards and three TDs over the first four games of 2016.

September 23, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Hazelton will play against Ottawa Friday.

Hazelton last played July 31 against Ottawa but has since been sidelined for an undisclosed reason. Prior to his time away from the field, the 28-year-old wideout was having a productive season, totaling 60-plus receiving yards in four of his six games while scoring three touchdowns.

August 31, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Hazelton was scratched from the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Lions, Chris O'Leary of the Toronto Star reports.

The reason for Hazelton's removal from the roster is not clear, but he will not suit up Wednesday night as expected.

August 19, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Hazelton (ankle) is back in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Eskimos.

Hazelton figures to get the start at slotback, while Kevin Elliott also returns from a shoulder injury this week. Barring any setbacks, Hazelton should be a consistent option in the Argonauts' aerial attack.

August 11, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Hazelton (ankle) won't play Friday against the Blue Bombers.

Hazelton lands on the one-game injury list after dealing with a low ankle sprain since early August. His next opportunity to return will be Week 9 against the Eskimos.

August 2, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Hazelton believes he has a low ankle sprain, and that he'll be fine after using the bye week to rest, Matthew Scianitti of TSN reports.

Hazelton's next chance to return will be Friday, August 12, against Winnipeg. The wide receiver has nabbed 24 passes for 324 yards and three touchdowns in six appearances in 2016.

July 14, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Hazelton caught five passes for 68 yards in Wednesday's loss to the Redblacks.

Over the last two weeks Kenny Shaw has begun to emerge as the Argos' top receiving option but Hazelton has remained involved, and he now has 17 catches for 259 yards and three scores on the year. He'll likely continue to provide modest, if consistent, production as the season progresses.

July 8, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Hazelton totaled 61 yards on his three receptions in Thursday's 25-14 victory over the Lions.

After a fast start in the opener that also featured 61 yards and a pair of scores, Hazelton has not been as frequent a target for Ricky Ray, but continues to contribute. He notched a 56-yard score in Week 2, and came back with a solid performance Thursday that featured another considerably long gain of 38 yards. Hazelton figures to get plenty of opportunities in what should be one of the CFL's better air attacks this season.

July 1, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Hazelton notched only two receptions for 69 yards in Thursday's 30-17 victory over the Roughriders, but one was a 56-yard touchdown strike.

The sophomore receiver helped stake the Argos to an early 14-0 lead by smoking the Roughriders secondary on a pump-and-go. It was Hazelton's third visit to the end zone over the first two weeks, certainly an encouraging development for a player from whom significant contributions are expected in 2016. The former University of Cincinnati Bearcat turned in a stellar CFL rookie campaign in 2015 with 803 yards and six touchdowns on 70 catches, and has a nice jump on eclipsing those numbers in the new season with his performance over the first pair of contests.

June 24, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Hazelton caught seven passes for 61 yards and two touchdowns in Thursday's 42-20 loss to the Tiger-Cats.

After an impressive rookie season for the Argos, Hazelton appears ready to take a step forward with his game in 2016. Toronto has a number of young receiving options jockeying for targets right now, but Hazelton's spot at the top of the depth chart seems secure.

June 22, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Hazelton caught two passes for 31 yards and a touchdown against the Tiger-Cats in the final preseason game Saturday.

Hazelton begins his second season with the Argos, having established himself as the top downfield threat last year. He hopes to improve on a fine rookie campaign that saw him haul in 70 passes for 803 yards and six TDs. The big wide receiver should be Ricky Ray's primary target in a formidable Toronto passing game.
