RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Fajardo (ankle) is listed as the third-string quarterback for Saturday's season opener against Montreal.

Fajardo missed last Friday's preseason game against the Blue Bombers, but it appears another week of rest has provided him with enough time to be available for the start of the regular season if needed. He still remains behind Jonathon Jennings and Ricky Lloyd on the depth chart, so it might require a pair of injuries for him to see the field.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Fajardo (ankle) is out for Friday's preseason tilt against the Blue Bombers.

Fajardo is walking around on crutches, so this news doesn't come as much of a surprise. At the moment, it doesn't appear the quarterback will be ready for the Lions' season opener June 16 against Montreal.

Fajardo (ankle) is walking around on crutches, Lowell Ullrich of TSN Radio 1040 reports.

While the x-rays on his ankle have yet to be released, his use of crutches is not a positive sign moving forward. BC's opens the season at home against Montreal on June 16, and as of right now it's looking unlikely that Fajardo will be ready to see any action come game time.

Fajardo signed a contract with the Lions on Thursday.

Fajardo has spent the last few seasons with the Argonauts as a backup and owns career numbers of 261 passing yards and four touchdowns across 26 games. He also can get it done on the ground, rushing 80 times for 329 yards and eight touchdowns over the last few seasons. After reportedly fielding multiple offers in free agency, he's opted to join the Lions and should once again provide some steady relief off the bench when needed behind incumbent starter Jonathon Jennings.

Fajardo replaced Jeff Mathews at the half in Friday's 21-9 loss to the Alouettes, completing 10 of 16 passes for 75 yards and adding nine carries for 60 yards.

Montreal's defense didn't let either Argos quarterback stretch the field, but Fajardo was able to move the chains with his legs and had a couple of shots at the end zone thwarted by penalties. If Ricky Ray (shoulder) remains sidelined for next week's rematch with the Als back in Toronto, Fajardo's solid showing in relief may have earned him a start.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Fajardo completed 9-of-11 passes for 86 yards and a touchdown in the Argonauts' first preseason game.

Fajardo impressed in the exhibition opener, but it will be tough for him to play more than a minor role this season for the Argonauts with both Ricky Ray and Drew Willy also on the roster.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Fajardo has been placed on the six-game injured list with an undisclosed injury.

Fajardo has seen spot action off the bench in all but two games this season, and even tallied three total touchdowns over the last two weeks, but the Argonauts will be without his services for several weeks. Expect the returning Ricky Ray to see all, or nearly all, of the snaps under center moving forward.

Fajardo completed three of four passes for 55 yards and a touchdown in relief of Logan Kilgore during Friday's loss to the Blue Bombers.

He also ran the ball four times for 27 yards. Kilgore threw an incredible five interceptions on the night, so while coach Scott Milanovich confirmed that Kilgore will remain the starter next week against Edmonton, another poor performance could open the door for Fajardo to take the starting job while Ricky Ray (knee) is out. The rookie out of Nevada has looked good in very limited snaps so far this season, but how he might handle the starting role remains to be seen.

Fajardo completed a four-yard pass, converting a key 3rd down play, to extend a subsequent scoring drive that contributed to the club's 23-20 win in Ottawa on Sunday.

Fajardo's composure and execution highlighted the faith of his coaching staff and was a refreshing change from the norm, bucking the trend of using a reserve QB solely to dive into the line on short-yardage plays. The fact that he was able to execute a play action fake and successfully convert the gamble will be something to watch out for, should the same situation come up in future games. It also indicates a level of skill and readiness in case interim starter Logan Kilgore falters at some point.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Fajardo completed seven of 12 passes for 87 yards in Friday's preseason loss to the Alouettes while also rushing twice for 12 yards.

He showed some good mobility at times, but Fajardo is competing for a backup spot behind Ricky Ray on the Argos roster at best to begin the season. Ray's lengthy injury history could open the door for Fajardo to see some regular season action if he makes the roster, however.
