RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Madu (undisclosed) was placed on the one-game injured list, Tim Baines of Postmedia reports.

The inclusion of Madu on the list by Ottawa means the running back will be forced to miss Thursday's game against Saskatchewan and won't be eligible to play again until the following Thursday at Calgary. Ottawa has yet to open their season, but Madu took two carries for 13 yards in his only preseason game. Without their primary backup, expect starter William Powell to see a slight uptick in involvement.

January 18, 2018

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Madu agreed to a one-year contract with Ottawa on Thursday, Tim Baines of Postmedia reports.

Madu rushed for 317 yards and two scores while adding 188 receiving yards and a pair of touchdown receptions during seven games with the team in 2017. He missed an assortment of games with various undisclosed injuries, but when the team was at full strength, he provided a solid change of pace from William Powell. When Powell is healthy, he will get a majority of the carries, but Madu still has value as a good number two and someone that can catch passes out of the backfield.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Madu (undisclosed) will suit up for Friday's game against Hamilton.

Madu was out with an undisclosed injury during the team's latest game against Saskatchewan on Oct. 13, but returns to the active roster following Ottawa's bye week. RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Madu carried the ball 11 times for 54 yards and added four catches for 52 yards in Saturday's 26-22 loss to the Tiger-Cats.

It's been a productive three-game stretch for Madu since replacing William Powell (undisclosed) as Ottawa's starting RB, as he's racked up 160 rushing yards and 137 receiving yards with two TDs. With Powell's status still up in the air, expect Madu to remain a useful fantasy asset going forward, although the entire Redblacks offense could struggle if Trevor Harris is forced to miss a significant amount of time after injuring his shoulder Saturday.

August 31, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Madu rushed 14 times for 64 yards and added three receptions for 45 yards in Thursday's 32-4 win over the Als. He also posted a two-point conversion rush.

Madu was the perfect complementary piece on a night where Trevor Harris and the receivers did a lot of the heavy lifting. The 29-year-old tailback posted his best YPC figure (4.6) since Week 1 while also notching a season-long 35-yard reception. Madu has turned in solid efforts through both the ground and air in the last two weeks, so it remains to be seen if he or William Powell (undisclosed) will helm the Redblacks backfield going forward.

August 30, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Madu is listed as the team's No.1 running back in advance of Thursday's game against the Alouettes.

William Powell (undisclosed) is not listed on the Redblacks' depth chart for Thursday, so it can be assumed that Madu will seemingly get the start unless Powell's health takes an unexpected positive leap. On the season, Madu has taken 46 carries for 199 yards and two touchdowns.

August 26, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Madu (undisclosed) rushed 11 times for 42 yards and a touchdown and added five receptions for 40 yards and another score in Saturday's 31-24 win over the Lions.

Madu missed last week's tilt against the Ti-Cats with an undisclosed injury, but he returned with a bang in Saturday's victory. The 29-year-old now has a pair of touchdowns apiece through both the ground and air and has hauled in an impressive nine receptions overall in his last two games. It remains to be seen how the backfield work will be distributed in Week 12 against the Als if Madu's backfield mate William Powell returns from an undisclosed injury as expected.

August 25, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Madu (undisclosed) will play and start in Saturday's game against the Lions.

Madu's start at running back Saturday comes with regular starter William Powell being placed on the one-game injured list for an undisclosed reason. This will be the second time in three weeks that Madu will start in place of the injured Powell, but the tailback rushed just six times for 23 yards in his previous start.

August 17, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Madu was placed on the one-game injured list prior to Friday's matchup with the Tiger-Cats.

It's not clear what is ailing Madu, but he will not take the field this week after starting at running back in Week 8 in place of an injured William Powell. After sitting out a week, Powell will return to action and serve as Ottawa's starting running back in Week 9.

August 10, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Madu carried the ball six times for 23 yards and caught four passes for two yards in Thursday's 27-20 loss to Edmonton.

William Powell is currently nursing a hamstring injury, but Madu isn't exactly helping his case for a bigger workload in his absence. If Powell remains out next week, look for Madu to get another start Friday in a potentially more exploitable matchup on the road against the Tiger-Cats.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Madu CFL.ca in Thursday's game against the Eskimos.

Madu was the Redblacks' primary ball carrier in Weeks 2-3 but has otherwise served as the team's backup running back this season. He will get a chance to move back into the top spot on the depth chart this week, however, with fellow running back William Powell (hamstring) sidelined. Madu has proven effective when given a chance to be top back, but he will have his work cut out for him this week against en Eskimos squad that is surrendering the fewest yards and second fewest points per game to opposing offenses.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Madu saw action with the Redblacks' starters Tuesday, Tim Baines of Postmedia reports.

Madu has not seen any action since Week 5, but fellow running back William Powell injured his left hamstring in Week 7, according to Onside CFL Fantasy, which could allow Madu to get back on the field this week. Madu got all of the running back touches in Week 3 after William Powell was a late scratch. He tallied 51 yards on 14 rushes to go along with 36 yards and a touchdown through the air. RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Madu compiled 51 yards on 14 rushes and added 36 yards and a touchdown on five receptions in Saturday's 26-25 loss to the Argonauts.

Despite being listed as the backup heading into the game, Madu garnered all the running back touches on the night. He found running room fairly difficult to come by against a tough Argos front, but he was able to got into the end zone for the second time in 2017 by hauling in a six-yard pass from Trevor Harris in the first quarter. Madu has now provided a combined 170 yards from scrimmage in the two games he's played, which could be enough to stave off competition from William Powell for touches for the time being. He'll look to continue his strong start when the Redblacks tangle with the Eskimos in Week 4.

July 7, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Madu is listed as the backup running back for Saturday's matchup with the Argonauts.

Madu found himself in a similar spot last week but ultimately worked as Ottawa's top running back when William Powell (ankle) was scratched, and he could start again this week with Powell still uncertain. Madu got the starting nod after not seeing a carry in Week 1 and responded with an impressive performance, leading all rushers on the night in the process. The 29-year-old running back's 14-yard touchdown got the Redblacks within 36-33 in the fourth quarter, and his overall effort could give him a chance at another starting opportunity in Week 3 against the Argonauts. In limited action last season, Madu was similarly effective, compiling 490 yards and three rushing touchdowns while averaging 5.3 yards on his 92 carries over six games.

June 28, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Madu will start at running back in Thursday's game against the Stampeders, according to Tim Baines of Postmedia and AJ Jakubec of TSN Radio 1200.

Fellow running back and Week 1 starter William Powell (ankle) practiced this week and was not placed on the injured list in advance of Thursday's contest, but the expectation is that Madu will be the Redblacks' primary back in Week 2 in order to give Powell extra time to heal. Madu fared well over six regular season games with the Redblacks a year ago, running for 490 yards and averaging 5.3 YPC.

June 22, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Madu is listed as the backup running back for Friday's season opener against the Stampeders.

Madu finished last season as the Redblacks' top running back, but he will enter the 2017 campaign as the No. 2 option behind William Powell. The latter missed all of 2016 due to injury, so if he shows any rust, Madu could get another shot to work as the top back.

Madu's 2016 season was cut short due to an injury suffered in the Eastern Final, but he is healthy and taking part in training camp. RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Madu gained 85 yards and scored a touchdown on 15 carries and added 29 yards on three receptions in Friday's 39-36 overtime loss to the Ti-Cats.

Madu continues to excel since donning a Redblacks uniform, with his two-yard second-quarter scoring plunge marking his second touchdown of the season. The 28-year-old has between 66 and 91 yards in four of his five games and has become a key ground component of the Ottawa offensive attack. He figures to continue serving as a key contributor in the key Week 19 tilt against the Blue Bombers.

Madu has done a solid job since being inserted into the starting lineup, averaging 4.9 yards per tote while also contributing 10 receptions. The 28-year-old's five grabs Friday were a season high as well, as he continues to serve as an effective complementary cog in the Redblacks' attack. While the offense figures to remain pass-heavy despite the loss of standout Chris Williams (knee) for the season last week, Madu figures in for some solid production as long as he retains the starting tailback role.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Madu carried the ball 15 times for 75 yards while adding two catches for 21 yards in Friday's overtime loss to the Roughriders.
