Major League Soccer (MLS)

Josef Martinez    F    Atlanta United
Martinez suffered a broken nose in Wednesday's 2-0 win over Columbus and is considered day-to-day, Doug Roberson of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Fantasy Analysis

Martinez subbed off at halftime during Wednesday's win after clashing heads with Columbus' Artur while Martinez scored on a header. He's questionable for Atlanta's next match with Portland on June 24.
Ronald Matarrita    D    New York City FC
Matarrita has been ruled out for the World Cup because of a muscular injury suffered during training that will keep him sidelined for at least two weeks, El Mundo reports.

Fantasy Analysis

The timing of Matarrita's injury is a huge blow given he finally made the World Cup roster, but the length of his absence should allow him to play for New York City FC sometime next month.
Brad Evans    M/D    Sporting Kansas City
Evans returned to training this week, according to Sam McDowell of the Kansas City Star.

Fantasy Analysis

Evans has yet to feature this season for a team that has suddenly been blighted by injuries, so any returns are needed. His first chance to return is June 23 against Houston.
Yohan Croizet    M    Sporting Kansas City
Croizet has returned to training after suffering a hamstring injury June 4, according to Sam McDowell of The Kansas City Star.

Fantasy Analysis

Croizet is a prominent attacking player for SKC, which may have lead to the 0-0 draw in his absence Saturday. The Frenchman still has over a week to train before the match with Houston June 23, but if he can't go Wan Kuzain is a potential replacement.
Matt Besler    D    Sporting Kansas City
Besler suffered a hamstring injury Saturday against Portland but isn't considered serious, according to Sam McDowell of the Kansas City Star.

Fantasy Analysis

Besler has been pairing with Ike Opara to form one of the league's best defenses this season. Besler was held out of training this week as a precaution. His absence would be a huge blow, and Emiliano Amor is a likely option as long as Besler is out.
Jimmy Medranda    M/D    Sporting Kansas City
Medranda has been out of action due to swelling in his knee and is set to get an MRI, according to Sam McDowell of the Kansas City Star.

Fantasy Analysis

Medranda last played May 20, and likely won't see the field until his knee is completely free of problems. Seth Sinovic will likely continue to start in his absence.
Jerome Thiesson    D    Minnesota United
Thiesson was a limited participant in training Thursday according to Jeff Rueter of The Athletic.

Fantasy Analysis

Thiesson was a regular at full-back as the season began, but has had to take his time with a sensitive groin injury. He still has a week before the match at Colorado June 23.
Jeisson Vargas    M    Montreal Impact
Vargas left Wednesday's match with Orlando City with an undisclosed injury in the 34th minute.

Fantasy Analysis

Vargas found himself unable to continue in the match and was replaced by Ken Krolicki. It remains to be seen why Vargas couldn't go on.
Cristian Higuita    M    Orlando City SC
Higuita was handed his fifth yellow card of the season against Montreal on Wednesday which triggers a one-match suspension.

Fantasy Analysis

Higuita was booked for a foul on Nacho Piatti, and will now be out against Montreal June 23. Will Johnson is a probable option if healthy next match.
Kelvin Leerdam    D    Seattle Sounders FC
Leerdam was ruled out for Wednesday's match with New York Red Bulls with a right hamstring strain.

Fantasy Analysis

Leerdam has regularly featured this season in defense, but found himself unable to go with an injury suffered over the weekend. Jordan McCrary got the start in Leerdam's absence.
Will Johnson    M/D    Orlando City SC
Johnson is questionable for Wednesday's match with Montreal after picking up a hamstring injury in last Saturday's 5-2 loss to Vancouver, Pro Soccer USA reports.

Fantasy Analysis

Johnson trained during Tuesday's session and noted that he was feeling good following the session. He's been a consistent starter this season and should be in the starting XI if he's available.
Scott Sutter    D    Orlando City SC
Sutter (knee) participated in training Tuesday and is questionable for Wednesday's match, Pro Soccer USA reports.

Fantasy Analysis

Sutter hasn't played since early April and will likely be eased back into action, which will likely leave him out of the match day squad against New England.
Lamine Sane    D    Orlando City SC
Sane (knee) participated in training Tuesday according to Jordan Culver of prosoccerusa.com.

Fantasy Analysis

Sane provides a potential boost to an Orlando defense that has lost every league match in his absence. His first chance to start will be June 13 against Montreal.
Santiago Mosquera    M    FC Dallas
Mosquera (undisclosed) has been ruled out two to three weeks, according to Pro Soccer USA.

Fantasy Analysis

Mosquera picked up the injury in Saturday's 2-0 win over Montreal, as he tried to play through an initial injury, but ended up doing more damage. Tesho Akindele could see the majority of Mosquera's playing time while he's sidelined.
Vincent Bezecourt    M    New York Red Bulls
Bezecourt is expected to miss six-to-eight weeks with a MCL sprain, his club announced on their official Twitter page Tuesday.

Fantasy Analysis

Bezecourt suffered the injury early into Saturday's match with Columbus and will now be out for most of the Summer. Typically featuring as a role player, regulars Tyler Adams, Daniel Royer and Kaku will still get most of the minutes in midfield.
Chris McCann    M    Atlanta United
McCann (hamstring) will be unavailable Wednesday against Columbus, according to manager Gerardo Martino as reported by Mitchell Northam of prosoccerusa.com on Monday.

Fantasy Analysis

McCann was rested Sunday against NYCFC, and will now get an extra two weeks to recover. His next chance to play is June 23 against Portland.
Andrew Wenger    F/M    Houston Dynamo
Wenger was subbed out of Saturday's 2-0 win over Colorado with an undisclosed injury.

Fantasy Analysis

Wenger made the start, but left after 25 minutes when he tightened up. He has been extremely versatile this season, starting the first 10 games at forward, winger and right-back positions. With almost two weeks until the Sporing Kansas City match June 23, Wenger will have a good amount of time to recover.
Romain Alessandrini    M    Los Angeles Galaxy
Alessandrini missed Saturday's 3-0 win due to a hamstring issue according to Adam Serrano of LA Galaxy.

Fantasy Analysis

His absence was noted as precautionary, and with three weeks to recover before the June 30th clash at San Jose he could be recovered in time to slot back into the starting lineup.
Sebastian Lletget    M    Los Angeles Galaxy
Lletget exited the match in the 49th minute with an ankle injury.

Fantasy Analysis

Lletget went down early in the second half with an apparent ankle injury. It is too soon to tell if he will miss more time, but if he does it will likely be Servando Carrasco taking over set piece duties for the time being with Romain Alessandrini also nursing an injury.
Cristian Colman    F    FC Dallas
Colman (undisclosed) was not in the 18-man during the 2-0 win over Montreal on Saturday.

Fantasy Analysis

Colman has two goals this season including one in his last start, but it remains to be seen what kept him out of this match. His next chance to play is June 23 against New York Red Bulls.
Lamar Neagle    M    Seattle Sounders FC
Neagle left Wednesday's U.S. Open Cup match early with a groin injury in the first half.

Fantasy Analysis

Neagle doesn't have a start in league play so his absence won't change much outside of hurting depth. In fact, he still doesn't have a league start with Seattle since returning to the club in 2017.
Yangel Herrera    M    New York City FC
Herrera has been ruled out for the rest of the season after undergoing arthroscopic ankle surgery, his club announced Thursday.

Fantasy Analysis

Herrera has been out since suffering the injury May 25, and will now be unavailable the rest of the way. The Venezuelan had been impressive in defense, currently sitting third in the league with 55 tackles and 40 won. Tommy McNamara and Ebenezer Ofori are potential replacements in midfield going forward.
Cedric Hountondji    D    New York City FC
Houtondji was subbed off in the sixth minute of Wednesday's US Open Cup match with NYCFC.

Fantasy Analysis

Houtondji was replaced by Sebastien Ibeagha before limping off the field. The Benin international has only played one minute in MLS this season, so any potential absence would likely matter little for fantasy.
Maximiano    M/D    Minnesota United
Maximiano was sent off with two yellows in just 18 minutes of play in Sunday's 4-1 loss against Kansas City.

Fantasy Analysis

Maximiano had a brutal showing off the bench, which instills little confidence in him going forward. He has four yellow cards in 106 minutes played, keeping his fantasy value close to zero.
Diego Chara    M    Portland Timbers
Chara will be suspended for next week's match with Sporting Kansas City after receiving a yellow card in the 63rd minute of Saturday's draw with LA Galaxy.

Fantasy Analysis

Chara was all over the place in the match, conceding six fouls in addition to two blocks and two tackles won. With the Colombian out against Sporting, Lawrence Olum is a possible replacement in midfield.
Axel Sjoberg    D    Colorado Rapids
Sjoberg went down with a concussion in the 45 minute of Friday's 2-1 loss to Vancouver.

Fantasy Analysis

Sjoberg clattered into Break Shea just before half-time and immediately fell to the turf. Danny Wilson replaced Sjoberg, who must now enter concussion protocol before returning to action.
Alejandro Bedoya    M    Philadelphia Union
Bedoya was sent off in the 19th minute of Saturday's 3-1 loss to Atlanta United for dissent.

Fantasy Analysis

Bedoya got into an argument with the referee after a penalty kick was conceded to Atlanta, which resulted in a quick dismissal for the American. Marcus Epps and Ilsinho are possible replacements for Bedoya during his suspension.
Haris Medunjanin    M    Philadelphia Union
Medunjanin was sent off in the 19th minute with back-to-back yellow cards during the 3-1 loss to Atlanta United.

Fantasy Analysis

Medunjanin confronted the referee after teammate Alejandro Bedoya was sent off, and earned himself an early shower after a heated conversation. With Medunjanin out at least one game, Ilsinho and Marcus Epps are possibilities to get the start.
Patrick McLain    G    Chicago Fire
McLain suffered an apparent hamstring injury and was forced to exit the game in the 44th minute of Saturday's 2-1 win over San Jose.

Fantasy Analysis

McLain was replaced by Richard Sanchez just before halftime. It was an unfortunate event for McLain, who had just earned the starting job two games ago. Until more is known about McLain's injury, Richard Sanchez is the likely starter for the Fire.
Jordan Harvey    D    Los Angeles Football Club
Harvey came off the bench and was sent off in the 89th minute of Saturday's 2-1 loss to FC Dallas.

Fantasy Analysis

Entering just after the break, Harvey was cautioned in the 72nd minute before a late challenge earned him his marching orders in the 89th. He'll be suspended for next week's match against the Earthquakes.
Marcel de Jong    D    Vancouver Whitecaps FC
De Jong (hamstring) was not in the 18-man squad for Friday's 2-1 win over Colorado.

Fantasy Analysis

De Jong failed to feature after leaving Sunday's 3-3 draw with New England early in the second half. It's unclear when he'll be able to return and how serious the injury is at this time, but it will be worth monitoring going forward based on his consistent role in the starting XI when healthy. Brek Shea slotted in at left-back with De Jong sidelined.
